A powerful Gaza Solidarity Walk was organized across the campus of Government College
University Faisalabad (GCUF) to stand in unity with the people of Palestine and raise voices against the
ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The walk aimed to highlight the students’ awareness and support
for global peace, justice, and human rights. The Department of Applied Linguistics actively took part in
this significant event. Students and faculty members joined the walk with full enthusiasm and stood
shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the university community. Participants from the department carried
placards, banners, and Palestinian flags with powerful slogans like “Free Gaza”, “Stop the Genocide”
and “We Stand with Palestine”. The presence of Applied Linguistics faculty members further boosted
student morale and demonstrated academic solidarity with oppressed communities. The walk moved
through the university grounds, passing all major departments. Students peacefully walked together
while raising awareness about the atrocities in Gaza and the need for international attention and
humanitarian support. A moment of silence and prayers were held at the end of the walk to honor the
lives lost and pray for peace. The event left a lasting impression and reminded all participants of the
power of unity, empathy, and standing up for justice.
